For those wanting to sample some culture, the Harbor Playhouse has a long-standing reputation for local talent. Heritage Park and Cultural Center is also a great place to learn about the artistic and cultural diversity of Corpus Christi and the surrounding area. Similarly, the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History is a great place to view historical collections that emphasize the uniqueness South Texas. And if you like festivals, every spring brings the Corpus Christi Festival of the Arts, where you’ll find live music, dancing, theater, film, and numerous art displays. There’s even something for the lovers of birds and botanicals. The Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail offers numerous observation platforms linking over 300 birding sites, and the Corpus Christi Botanical Garden is full of walking trails, birds, flowers, and wetlands. As one of the largest states in the Union, Texas, the Lone Star state, is big on tourism and huge on fun. Two thirds of the over 20 million folks who call Texas home live in its major metropolitan cities, like Houston, Dallas, and Austin. Aside from the typical things most big cities have to offer, like great food and exciting nightlife, folks in Houston can also sign up for space camp.
